New Vision on Public Health and Education

The School of Health and Education introduces a new, visionary perspective on the education of teachers and other professionals who are responsible for the education and development of children and adolescents. Its vision is to become a leading research and educational centre where students receive an outstanding research-based education.

The department offers four degree programmes. First, a Master’s in public health education (MPH degree), with a special emphasis on the health and welfare of children and adolescents.

Second, a Master’s in education (MEd degree) for future teachers who want to emphasise health education in their work. Third, an undergraduate degree in sport science (BSc degree), with an emphasis on sports as an important factor in the promotion of health and prevention of disease. Fourth, an undergraduate degree in psychology (BSc degree).

The School has been developed in co-operation with faculty at prestigious American universities, including Columbia University in New York and Pennsylvania State University. Professors in health education and public health, pedagogy and mathematics education from these universities will be among the visiting faculty at the School.
